Dos...Finished our first week!

We arrived on Friday and quickly settled into our house for the next three weeks in Punta del Este. It's taking a bit of time to adjust to the time change and the warmer weather, but we'll get there. Our host, Jesús, is keeping us on our toes—he loves chatting with us in Spanish!

My first real Spanish challenge came in a small shop selling local artisan crafts. I wanted to tell the saleswoman that her inventory was really nice. Judging by the look on her face, what came out of my mouth was definitely not what I intended. Instead of complimenting her for the beautiful merchandise, I somehow told her that her sister was very nice—while smiling broadly to show my goodwill. It was my first big "no bueno" moment... and probably not my last.

We want to leave you with some photos from our daily life in South America.

We had to take a "First day of school" photo

Our school with Sarah and Margot (the owner)

While studying in our apartment this guy decided to give us a visit. Yikes! It's pretty safe to say we wear shoes around the house from now on.

This is our home away from home gimnasio (gym).
